It is a good thing that the previous match was so quick, because this game went almost two hours.
Steve kept goading Matt’s creatures and my creatures, Michael was playing Elsha of the Infinite again and his vehicle deck made him essentially immune to Steve’s goadings. An early game Defiler of Vigor helped me get out several big creatures, prime targets for goading.
Matt’s graveyard was filling up with creatures thanks to a round 2 Millikin and a round 3 The Warring Triad. When he played Rise of the Dark Realms he returned a dozen creatures to his battlefield, including Archfiend of Depravity. Michael was the only who was negatively struck with that, because Steve exiled it on his turn.
Steve still hasn’t attacked anybody, he’s let Matt and me do all of it. Matt and I are down to around 5 life each, Steve and Michael are only fairing a bit better sitting around 15 life.
I cast Zopandrel, Hunger Dominus on my turn and then Fade from History destroying all artifacts (sorry Michael) and all enchantments (sorry Steve). I then attacked Matt with everything I had, removing him from the game, but not before he took out the Defiler.
Matt and Steve played through there next turns holding their creatures for defense.
On my last turn I cast Kamahl, Heart of Krosa. Kamahl plus Zopandrel meant I had enough attacking creatures with trample to do 60 damage to both Steve and Michael, they only had defense to stop half that. Steve wasn’t worried about that. He cast Inkshield preventing all damage that would be dealt to him and creating 60 inkling tokens with flying.
Michael was out. I had slain two opponents. And I was completely tapped out. I had 3 creatures left for defense. I offered Steve my hand and he won his fourth game in a row!
